This page is respectfully dedicated to the Alaska Peace
Officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, and
to the family and friends they left behind.

The FBI reported that 41 law enforcement officers were feloniously killed in the line of duty in 2008; 68 officers died in accidents while performing their official duties; and 58,792 officers suffered assaults while on duty. The 2008 edition of Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted, which was released by the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program, provides comprehensive tabular data about these incidents and brief narratives describing the fatal felonious attacks.
